It is human nature to look for something more. Parallel to that car enthusiasts tend to look for more extreme driving performances, more challenging automobiles and faster speeds and so Lamborghini keeps on producing more dynamic and more extreme cars. They keep on amazing people on how innovation had trimmed on weight yet adding more power on it and allowingfaster acceleration.

In the 2007 Geneva Motor Show, we had seen this kind of innovation and technological practice on the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera or super light as translated in English. It then awed a lot of expectators and car aficionados.
The way they took off a hundred kilograms in a way that you couldn’t really tell they’d done that apart from the rear spoiler. Even on the inside too, there is almost no sign of reducing weight, it is still made of a lot of leather, wool and still have a great deal of luxury on it. The result had it down to 1330 kilograms dry weight.
Still, even with less weight, it got more power than the normal Gallardo. Its rear wheel drive mid mounted 90 degree 5 L V10 engine can punch out at 8000 rpm a maximum power hundred horsepower more than the normal Gallardo making up a 530 horsepower all in all. The maximum torque though is maintained at 510 Nm at 4250 rpm.
Acceleration is a bit faster though. It only takes you 3.8 seconds to reach a hundred km/h from zero. And it would keep you going and reach a maximum speed of 315 km/hour. That is pretty fast for a road car.
It has a standard 6-speed + reverse manual gearbox but a robotized sequential E-gear system with actuation by paddles on the steering column is left optional.

For easier grip, it has a permanent 4-wheel drive with viscous traction system. The engine management is left for the Electronic Lamborghini L.I.E. with its individual static ignition, multipoint sequential fuel injection, Drive-by-Wire system and OBD (On Board Diagnostics) System. It has a dry sump lubrication system, two water radiators + gearbox/engine oil cooler cooling system, and a variable geometry intake system.
It is of aluminum space frame, a carbon fiber engine bonnet with polycarbonate transparent part, full ESP system and an aluminum double wishbones front and rear suspension system, anti-roll bar, anti-dive and anti-squat.
It got a double plate 215 mm diameter clutch, 45% limited slip rear differential and a slip limitation by ABD function front differential, power assisted rack and pinion steering, and Pirelli Pzero Corsa tyre.
Emission levels are kept to follow EURO 4 and LEV II standards.
All in all, this car is of course worth its brand new tag price of 151,000 pounds. But that was two years ago. Today, we can save a lot for our purse if well take a look at some pre-owned used cheap Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera. You can surely buy and own a Lamborghini at a lower price. Plus, you can also take a look at some wrecked or salvaged ones for a much lesser price. Buy it and invest for its proper repair, running and of course constant maintenance and you’ll see that it is worth your fortune. Being a supercar enthusiast doesn’t mean going for the most luxurious and most expensive cars of today. You may exercise being a supercar aficionado yet considering saving money for other things worthy of it.
Buy a cheap Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera and you will surely experience extreme driving performance even form something which had already been to a thousand miles.
