Nothing beats the outrageousness of the vintage cars of Lamborghini. From the time the company started to build supercars, the genius ideas of its creating team just keeps on getting more unique and more extreme. It may seem that the classic cars though have crazier ideas than the present models and are even a real collectible car with just a production number not exceeding a thousand units.
Several very rare models are the Jarama 400 GT, Miura SV, Silhouette, and the 350 GT. They’ve been with the company on Lamborghini’s rise to popularity as one of the best supercar makers of all time.
350 GT is the gran turismo which started Lamborghini’s road of production cars. It is the car that started it all off and made a break for Ferruccio Lamborghini and proved to the world that his dream of having his company one of the best supercar makers the world had set an eye on won’t be staying forever as a dream. Indeed he was right. The 350 GT were built between the years 1964 to 66 with only a total of 135 units. This two door coupé had its debut at the 1964 Geneva Motor Show although the final version of the production car was introduced at the 1964 Paris Motor Show. Its rear-wheel drive V12 front-mounted engine can produce a maximum power of 280 bhp at 6500 rpm and a maximum torque of 325 Nm at 4500 rpm allowing an impressive sprint to 100 km/h from zero in just 6.8 seconds. On special demand, maximum power can be increased to 320 bhp at 7000 bhp with the Veloce engine.
Another exotic model is the Jarama 400 GT. This 2 door 2+2 seater coupé only had a total production of 177 units built only from 1970 to 1972. It was presented at the 1970 Geneva Motor Show awing people out with what its front mounted rear-wheel drive V12 engine can produce. A splashing 350 bhp at 7500 rpm and 394 Nm at 5500 rpm maximum power and torque respectively is delivered out of its very powerful engine. Although a run from halt to 100 km/h is the still the same with the 350 GT, it is indeed a great supercar.
Then here is another one with only 275 units produced within the years 1966 to ’69. Premiered at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show the Miura P400 SV is a two door two sitter berlinetta equipped with a mid mounted rear wheel drive V12 engine with the gearbox and differential built in the same block and pressed-in liners.
Another model is a two-door two-seater with a removable roof panel with a rear-wheel drive V8-engined super car. Named as Silhouette, its engine is mid-mounted with the gearbox and differential also built in the same block and pressed-in liners. With only 54 units built plus about 31 of it are known to still exist, this one would probably be one of the most sought after vintage supercars. The body was derived from the Uracco P300 though maximum power is now 260 bhp and maximum torque now up to 201 lbs.ft.
Buying Lamborghini may even sound like a dream, and vintage cars might even be a more difficult one with only limited units to be found on sale. But the feeling of being able to own one of the most sought after cars is surely indescribable. Where to buy Lamborghini also is a big question. Exotic cars are obviously not that easy to find and are obviously very expensive. But buying a Lamborghini would surely make you experience an everyday luxury driving one of the Lambos.
